Magic the Gathering Born of the Gods/MTGBNG FOIL Singles Available

Hello again Magic: the Gathering fans.  Born of the Gods, the second set in Theros block is ready to rock game tables everywhere.  As players are getting set to evolve their existing deck or creating new ones, we here at MTG Mint Card are taking stock of some of the Born of the Gods foil singles we now have available.  No matter which game format you may be into, foils are always nice and this is most definitely true in Commander where it may take a few short years for some players to reach the ultimate achievement of ‘foiling’ out their entire stack of 99 singletons along with their general.  We suggest avoiding some of that labor and dropping by MTG Mint Card.

We are evaluating our favs here mainly on three criteria:
• appropriateness for inclusion in a Commander (or perhaps a Modern) format deck,
• the sweet epic-ness of the card illustration, and of course,
• how the foiling looks on the card.

Here are just a few of the new foils which caught our eye –

• Foil Xenagos, God of Revels, illustrated by Jason Chan.  Like the other indestructible gods, a good choice as a Commander or in the deck. The foil on the flames and staff look amazing.

• Foil Ephara, God of the Polis, illustrated by Eric Deshamps.  Another one of the new gods, this is good strategy to maintain card advantage with card draw.  The foiling is subtle and beautiful

Foil Spirit of the Labyrinth, illustrated by Jason Chan.  Certainly the ‘it dies to removal’ argument applies here but the chance of shutting down your opponents Ponder, Brainstorm and other cantrips is attractive.

Foil Astral Cornucopia, illustrated by Aleski Briclot.  Don’t underestimate the power of this artifact.  There are plenty of ways to ‘cheat’ additional charge counters on this.  We suggest Vedalken Infuser, Surge Node and the like.

That’s it for now, be sure to drop by MTG Mint Card as we continually restock the cards you are after.
