Top 5 Red Magic 2013 M13 Cards Review

Just like the previous review, it will be in a spoiled top 5 Red cards countdown format, with each section having an image, a brief summary/description, and my verdict on what functions I think it has.

1. Mindclaw Shaman

Mindclaw Shaman lets you steal the best spell in an opponent’s hand and then cast it for free. It effectively functions as discard as well.

Mindclaw Shaman

Mindclaw Shaman

Cost 4R
Type Creature – Vampire Shaman
P/T 2/2
Rarity Uncommon
Rules Text
When Mindclaw Shaman enters the battlefield, target opponent reveals his or her hand. You may cast an instant or sorcery card from it without paying its mana cost.

2. Thundermaw Hellkite

Thundermaw Hellkite won’t tap all of your opponent’s creatures – just the ones with flying. Its ability ensures that there will be no turbulence on the flight toward the opposing life total.
Whenever you play this creature there is going to be a very solid chance that you are going to be looking at a ton of dead spirits and a couple dead BOPs right before bashing your opponent for five. OR your opponent isn’t going to have any flyers and they are simply just going to take five.

Thundermaw Hellkite

Thundermaw Hellkite

Cost 3RR
Type Creature – Dragon
P/T 5/5
Rules Text

When Thundermaw Hellkite enters the battlefield, it deals 1 damage to each creature with flying your opponents control. Tap those creatures.

3. Worldfire

Although Worldfire has a large casting cost of nine mana, in the right deck you’ll never actually pay that much to play it. Worldfire feels like what Obliterate used to.

Cost 6RRR
Type Sorcery
Rules Text
Exile all permanents. Exile all cards from all hands and graveyards. Each player’s life total becomes 1.

4. Magmaquake

You know what the worst part of earthquake was, it could kill you just as well as clear the board. The best think is that this is an instant which means you can use it when your opponent has a planeswalker out and you do not.

Cost XRR
Type Instant
Rarity Rare
Rules Text
Magmaquake deals X damage to each creature without flying and to each planeswalker.

5. Krenko, Mob Boss

Krenko can easily create a massive board presence by his lonesome, and if other Goblin cards are already on the table then a win is imminent. Krenko comes down significantly earlier and brings tools to create an absolutely vicious assault force at any given moment.

Krenko, Mob Boss

Krenko, Mob Boss

Cost 2RR
Type Legendary Creature – Goblin Warrior
P/T 3/3
Rarity Rare
Rules Text
Tap Symbol: Put X 1/1 red Goblin creatures onto the battlefield, where X is the number of Goblins you control.
